2024
2024 was our third year as the official creative partner for the World AeroPress Championship. Every year WAC needs a fun new identity to set it apart from previous years, reflect the competition’s personality and represent the host city. This time we were working a little closer to home on the brand identity for the competition’s 16th year in sunny Lisbon!
The competition starts every year with an exciting build-up on socials as regional winners, sponsors and special guests are announced. It’s a great opportunity to introduce the global brewing audience to their host city’s unique charm and start building anticipation for the main event! While WAC’s signature tongue-in-cheek personality definitely still has it’s moments, 2024 gave us the opportunity to show a more considered and elevated side to this established and highly respected coffee competition.


We drew inspiration from Lisbon’s melting pot of design influences, from the pastel-hued cobbled streets and intricately tiled coffee kiosks to art deco lettering and the iconic azulejos.



The brand mark combines elements of the brewing process in a hand illustrated tile inspired by the decorative floral azulejos which adorn Lisbon’s streets. Meanwhile elegant typefaces appear in lockups reminiscent of traditional European street signage.








Working with Ben and the studio over the last two years has been a dream. They have taken what was already a well recognized, globally adored brand to a whole new level of engagement.
We're excited to see what the future holds for our partnership and owe much of our recent success to the impactful brand identities and communication systems they've created for us.
