Branding the World Aeropress Championship

2022

We love speciality coffee. The drink, the industry, the people, the world of design in and around it. We were so excited then to be asked to help the World Aeropress Championships brand their 2022 world final in Vancouver.

As their continuing creative partner we helped develop a concept that pocketed the host country's enthusiasm for high-stakes competition and the playful cult appeal for the AeroPress brewer through a conceptual ice-hockey theme.

'80s and '90s Olympics kitsch references and the spunk of retro sports culture helped us develop visual identity, brand language, content creation, art direction, copywriting and event materials - a fully immersive experience that contrasted the gritty spirit of body checks, slapshots and dropped gloves with the super-friendly and apologetic Canadian stereotype.
